The Bountiful Supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, Myrna Aponte

Every human being has needs. As Christians, however, our greatest need is Christ, and there is no better place than the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) to meet such a need. I was born into a Christian family awakened, through reading the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, to seek something more than what they had experienced. At the age of four my parents began to meet with other Christians who also followed this ministry. This was the beginning of my journey to have my greatest need met by the Lord.

After graduating from college I enrolled in the FTTA. I thought that coming to this place would give me more knowledge to help me be a better Christian. To my surprise, God's plan was to help me experience the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:19). Acts 16:7 speaks of the Spirit of Jesus in relation to the Lord's human living. In Romans 8:9 Paul speaks of the Spirit of Christ in relation to His resurrection. In Philippians 1:19, however, he mentioned not the Spirit of Jesus, or the Spirit of Christ alone, but rather the compound title, the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

The more I opened myself to the Lord and to His word, I realized that the Spirit of Jesus Christ can be experienced by all of us. Not only do human beings have needs, they also suffer through many circumstances. How can we continue loving the Lord despite so many hard situations? It is because we have the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. In the Spirit of Jesus Christ we not only experience the Lord's suffering in His humanity but also the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10).

We may experience hard circumstances, but we have the Spirit of Jesus Christ in our spirit bringing us out of our messy state into His resurrection. No matter what we go through, we have a bountiful supply of this Spirit. We do not have to continue looking at all our problems. We have the bountiful supply of the Spirit that carries us into His resurrection. This has been my greatest enjoyment of Christ in the FTTA. Day by day I am learning to receive the supply from the Spirit of Jesus Christ empowering me to pursue and love my dear Lord Jesus in every circumstance (Philippians 3:14; 4:13). I thank the Lord for the FTTA and the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee who have opened the Word to us in such a rich way.
